The answer to that question is simply no! A big “hell no”!
It is truly disturbing that I am already beginning to see a lot of disrespect being thrown in the way of some of the guys that have held the game down for so long because of a new kid doing some fly things.
It is even more disparaging that it is not like none of these other guys is dead or isn’t hot anymore. For one, Wizkid is still the biggest artist on the continent, representing Africa globally, putting Lagos on the map. CKay will need a million “Love Nwantintin”’s to math that!
Or you wanna talk about Burna Boy, fresh off his historic groundbreaking Grammy win. Burna Boy is still very much active in this game. And, if the past is anything to go by, he’s still got a couple more years left in him. So, absolutely not, CKay is not even a challenger for Burna Boy‘s crown.
It is understandable why people might think these records CKay is breaking means he is the next big deal or the future or whatever. That might be true.
But what is also true is that CKay is still a long way from becoming half as great as any of Wizkid, Davido, Olamide, or Burna Boy!
